Bring to a class a photo of an object that is very important to you.

Play extra credit

Attend Thursday or Friday's night performance of the school play. Attach ticket stub to one page review. The review must be typed or neatly written in pen. The review must be well written to receive full credit.

8 AM Deadline-Oct. 29th

By 8 AM on Friday, you must turn in the checklist, revised paper and earlier drafts. Carefully follow the checklist.

Mentor Meetings-Oct. 25th and 26th

Come prepared to talk to your mentor about your revisions. Bring your earlier drafts, to do checklist and questions to the mentor meeting.

Make a pretty and comprehensive checklist for your revision!
Don't just write research- write what type of research it is that you need to do.
Extra credit will be given to students who complete to do list on time and get guardian signature to confirm that work was done.
This means that on your checklist you must include due dates.

Come to the financial aid presentation on the 21st and earn 50 extra credit points! Make sure that Ms. Collins signs paper.

October 21st Homework

Complete the rough draft of your personal statement. Carefully read your rubric. State the prompt at the top of the paper.

ALSO please bring your graded background to class

Finish art piece, if not completed in class.
Write the first paragraph of your personal statement. Work hard on a title, first sentence and creative opening. Pay attention to diction and syntax.

Typed Point of View- October 13th

Type your three pages of your first point of view. Make sure you include textnotes and annotations. We will be peer editing each other's papers and going to the lab.

Come prepared to write your first point of view in class. Bring articles, your summaries, and anything else that will help you write.

You must complete the following summary work for EACH of your three sources:

1) Read the source or if it is a movie watch it.
2) After two or three paragraphs, write a one or two sentence summary. Or after five or ten minutes of the film, write the short summary.
3) Remember to make this summary work for you. Write summaries that have enough information to help you in your paper.
4) Write specific facts from the article that you can use in your paper.

This may be written in pen or typed. Clearly write the citation of each source before the summary.

First Paragraph POV- Due October 6th

Write the first paragraph to your point of view essay. The last sentence of the paragraph should be your point of view. This is very similar to many of the essays that you already wrote in high school. A few sentences that evoke feelings sympathetic to your point of view are a great opening.
